Meet the Teams

Meet the top six finalists of the 2018/2019 Wayne State University STEAM Challenge

After a semester of hard work, dedication and a passion for their ideas that would energize Detroit, the top six teams of the STEAM Challenge were announced on Feb. 18. The videos below represent the teams/projects that will be moving on to the final pitch competition on Monday, March 25 in the Undergraduate Library's Bernath Auditorium. Join the Wayne State community to watch these teams present their final pitches explaining how their ideas will energize Detroit and should take home up to $10,000 in prize money. The event is free and open to all.

The STEAM Challenge brings interdisciplinary student teams together to pitch ideas to solve real problems facing the city. Teams were asked to identify real needs or issues facing the city and suggest an idea for a project-based solution that uses an interdisciplinary approach. This year's theme was Energize Detroit: Energizing the city by empowering mental and physical fitness and well-being.
